It's been a long time coming...

Yes, yes, yes, I know, I know, it's been a while, but phew I had A LOT of life changes since my last post, I moved to Georgia and hated it, I was pregnant with my baby girl and then I moved back to Virginia not even a month ago and now I am newly pregnant with my third child.

I am back on track and back where I belong and getting in where I fit in! It's time to get back to caking it up and making delish desserts for my customers and fans, I love you guys!

I'm going all in this time, even harder! I hope you guys are ready for the ride! I just made some cool and savvy business cards can't wait for you guys to get a chance to check them out! Stay tuned cakesters cause I am back and with a cake vengeance!

Bling cake!

So I decided to try my hand at a bling cake and the results are in! I like it, but I think it's a bit plain for my taste, I think I could of dazzled it up a bit more, maybe even some more ornaments or added some quilts to it or something, idk, didn't want to overdo it, but I think its an okay cake, lol I like simple and elegant anyway. Well... you live, you learn and start over better lol right? So on to my next cake, cakesters! Enjoy the view!

My VERY first fondant cake! Yippeeee! Lol, I know, it could use some work but I am sooo proud of what I was able to accomplish thus far! This has definitely made my day and inspired me to continue on! It's not as easy as it looks to accomplish such a task but its VERY rewarding once you are done and see the creation you have made! I love cake decorating! Until next time fellow cakesters!

Fondant Success!

So... a little background (I promise... just a little lol). I once tried to make fondant years ago to cover a cake, homemade fondant at that and it was an utter complete failureeeeeee (except I was able to turn that failed fondant into Xmas characters for  my sons school Xmas cake, pic below). So rewind to now and I decide to try it again but this time, I did lots of research to find the right recipe that would actually work and noooo I was not trying my hand at homemade again lol, at least not now, once I get better with it and more comfortable I will try homemade again. 

So during my long expedition of fondant knowledge, I came across LMF (Elizabeth Marek Fondant) and, I decided to give it a go and pray for the absolute best. Wow my prayers were answer because not only did I knock it out the ball park, I became a believer in fondant for once in my life lol. I am stoked and happy and I promise, this has made my day today! Here's a pic of it!

BTW: If you haven't tried LMF, you should, it tastes great and it doesn't harden, pliable, can be rolled paper thin without tearing and can be stored for months in a ziploc bag! Try it, you WILL be glad you did!

Why... Hello!

So, this is my first blog, well to be technical, my second, I have another blog (cold case theories), but I don't keep up with it much, since I have a lot gooingggg on nowadays lol.
